Right on the money observations about crapbook..hehe
amazing post….
Signing up on FB was the worst idea ever. I never achieved anything, nor did anything productive on the site.
I deactivated my account a year and a half ago, and although all my friends are still on, and although it’s tempting to see what’s going on between friends, I manage to resist, knowing that going back in will result in exposing virtually everything about yourself, and you emotionally beating yourself up from the fact that your friends are doing things without you.
I’m starting a new life, making friends the natural way. I don’t need a social helper like FB to improve my social life… I know how to ask someone’s number face to face, how to ask a girl out in the same manner, how to keep track of your friends’ birthdays, how to organise events, how to connect with my friends and all the other things you can do with FB… It’s just that it’s easier to do all this on Facebook with the click of a few buttons, so we (the lazy generation) settle with that instead. It’s truly saddening how lazy these people are.
I understand that we are moving rapidly with technology and whatnot, but something like FB (originally intended for College Students) should only be used for people who need serious help with their social life… otherwise the site could induce a lot of self-esteem-related side effects as well as unconventional, unintended friendships with people you may not even know…
It’s a flawed site.
Too creepy with that facial recognition, and all the things you find out after the fact like oops sorry we sold you out to some cheesy “find any person anywhere in the US” (profile pic included) glad I had a pic of an animal representing me at the time. No thanks pulled off I like meeting people in person.
OMG GET MORE PLEASE!??
