Facebook lost 1billion photographs
I got hundreds of email on this weekend about their pictures just disappeared from famous social networking site Facebook. When i refered to Facebook blog i got the shock of my life that Facebook lost more than 1 billion photograph, which are 10% – 15% of total photographs hosted on facebook due to hard drive failure.

According to Facebook several drives failed at once during a routine upgrade Friday night.

“You may have noticed in the past day that some photos aren’t appearing or are displaying a ‘question mark’ graphic when you go to view them. We’re trying to fully understand what happened, since simultaneous hardware failures like this are rare” Evan Priestley, an engineer at Facebook Inc.

So, poor Sam is getting his pictures looked at by every single person who is Jane’s friends. And, the same goes for anyone else who comments on his picture.
