Furthermore besides the disadvantages of such social networking sites on teenagers, percentage of consequences is increasing where middle-aged users have also wasted and confused their relationships. However, other than some very limited testing, we haven’t launched anything yet so we’re not using the permission”.

These news reports are really scaring for smartphone users as mobile apps are very getting popularity with every day passing and according to a poll, 70% of users very very rarely read terms and conditions.

Member of Privacy International Campaign group, Emma Draper told reporters: “Your personal information is a precious commodity, and companies will go to great lengths to get their hands on as much of it as possible.”

So we should rethink while using facebook apps and other mobile apps even the popular ones. They all are accessing your private data.

US President Obama have 2 daughters, Malia 13 and Sasha 10. Malia is now old enough to join Facebook but President Obama said that he will not allow his daughters to join Facebook until they are both 4-years older.

Important point is that just a week ago Federal Trade Commission warned facebook for privacy settings which were updated two years ago and demanded facebook to do regular audits over the next 20 years. Federal Trade Commission also accused facebook for deceptive practices.

Though facebook claimed that they have fixed the flaw but it clearly shows that facebook has never been sersious about privacy settings and have never taken appropriate actions since facebook changed privacy setting two years ago.

In a statement Facebook says: “Earlier today, we discovered a bug in one of our reporting flows that allows people to report multiple instances of inappropriate content simultaneously. The bug allowed anyone to view a limited number of another user’s most recently uploaded photos irrespective of the privacy settings for these photos. This was the result of one of our recent code pushes and was live for a limited period of time. Upon discovering the bug, we immediately disabled the system, and will only return functionality once we can confirm the bug has been fixed”.

A Similar event took place an year back with consequences that followed to temporarily restrict access to Facebook in Pakistan. Either the mistake is somehow repeated or intentionally done because Facebook Platform Policies clearly state:

You will not post content that: is hateful, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.

Even if the Facebook administrators failed to see it the first time, how come they not notice it when the competition was intentionally held again after a period of one year? The administrators have the complete control to remove any controversial material being posted on their website to ensure quality as stated in Facebook terms:

• You will not use Facebook to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.
• We respect other people’s rights, and expect you to do the same.
• You will not post content or take any action on Facebook that infringes or violates someone else’s rights or otherwise violates the law.
• We can remove any content or information you post on Facebook if we believe that it violates this Statement.

What sort of right do Facebook respect if it supports humiliation of a certain religion despite having complete authority to remove content based on controversy? This also provokes another question in reader’s mind, why is a social networking website being used as a tool to promote religious violence?

Prof.Baroness Greenfield also a former director of research body of the Oxford University, said: “Why should someone be interested in what someone else has had for breakfast? It reminds me of a small child (saying): ‘Look at me Mummy, I’m doing this’, ‘Look at me Mummy I’m doing that’. It’s almost as if they’re in some kind of identity crisis. In a sense it’s keeping the brain in a sort of time warp.”

Prof. Greenfield continued: “Some Facebook users feel the need to become ‘mini celebrities’ who are watched and admired by others on a daily basis. They do things that are ‘Facebook worthy’ because the only way they can define themselves is by ‘people knowing about them’. It’s almost as if people are living in a world that’s not a real world, but a world where what counts is what people think of you or (if they) can click on you.”

A woman, who doesn’t want to reveal her name, clicked on the message and she was told to send an email to the Facebook claims department with given code numbers. After some days she received an email with the message that she needs to transfer $544 to Trans Global Express Courier Service so she can recieve her $500,000 cheque. She did it via Western Union so she can get her enormous cheque couriered quick smart.

Later that night she received a call from a man who told her that she needs to transfer further $5000 to the British Immigration Tax Offices to clear her cheque.

She spoke to her daughter who told her its most probably a scam. Woman still went to her bank to get an application for bank loan as she doesn’t have enough money but didn’t filled it and send an email back to the scammer that she didn’t have enough money. She then went to Police station.

Woman said: “But I never filled it in. I emailed the people back and told them I didn’t have enough money.”

In her statement she said: “I was thinking, Oh God, someone is looking after me. I didn’t even enter any competition. I was overwhelmed. It’s all just so embarrassing. I just can’t believe I fell for it now. I’m not a gullible person.”

About the money, $544 she transfered via WU, Woman said: “I was told it was needed because it was such a large amount of money.”

Later after investigating Police issued a warning via press statement for others to not to fall for the scam.

A new study by University of Guelph Ontario, called, “More Information than You Ever Wanted: Does Facebook Bring Out the Green-Eyed Monster of Jealousy?” finds Facebook contributes uniquely to feelings of jealousy.

Study found the social networking site can contribute to a “negative feedback loop,” where the user logs on and sees exchanged messages or photos and because of what they see, they log on more frequently to monitor the communication.

Study reveals that the availability of information plays a huge role in the outcome. The open nature of Facebook exposes people to information and exchanges about their partner they would not otherwise see.

Dr. Howard Markman, a professor of psychology at the University of Denver who is sometimes referred to as “Dr. Love” by colleagues, said:
“There is no doubt there is more to negotiate. It’s kind of like nuclear energy. It can be used for good, but there is a lot of potential for danger”.

To avoid that danger Markman says face-to-face communication is critical, He Continues: “Fighting about Facebook can be hard, but people need to learn how to talk and openly handle what’s going on and learn how to set some boundaries about what is acceptable and what is not”.

Glen Gilbert, who recently ended a three-year relationship, says he used facebook to see who is ex-girlfriend was adding as friends, who she had pictures with and her interactions with other users.

He said: “Right after she broke up with me, I stalked her profile, and when I saw her with other men, it hurt”.

Even before the break up, Gilbert says conversations about the same topics would come up and sometimes be a point of conflict. He said: “When I came across pictures of her with other men, I would ask who the guy was, just insecurity on my part. It didn’t lead to the break up, but it definitely caused tension”.

And we all know Gilbert is not the only one constantly logging on to a romantic partner’s page and feeling jealous.

But Zuckerberg remains unruffled by these accusations. He says he will stand by his decision to give Facebook the axe. “I don’t care about the money. I just want my old life back.

The Facebook Corporation suggests that users remove all of their personal information from the website before March 15th. After that date, all photos, notes, links, and videos will be permanently erased.

Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook, Avrat Humarthi said: “After March 15th the whole website shuts down. So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business”.

UPDATE: After Facebook shutting down rumor spread like a fire on all over the internet. Mark Zukerberg and Facebook Officials denied by saying that there isn’t any truth in Rumor. So its been official now Facebook is not shutting down on March 15th. I am sorry guys we need to wait more for the big day
