1. Too many applications, too many people, not enough interest. I don’t care if you’re throwing sheep at me. I don’t care if you’re asking me what kind of unique and special snowflake I am. The worst thing about too many applications spamming me is that the signal-to-noise ratio for genuinely interesting applications is really shitty – I hardly ever find anything worth adding, because I’m too busy ignoring other crap!

An Oxford University neuroscientist, Susan Greenfield says that social networking websites like Facebook are causing alarming changes in the brains of young users. Websites such as Facebook and Twitter are said to shorten attention spans, make young people more self-centered, and encourage instant gratification.
“We know how small babies need constant reassurance that they exist”, she told the UK’s Daily Mail.
“My fear is that these technologies are infantilising the brain into the state of small children who are attracted by buzzing noises and bright lights, who have a small attention span and who live for the moment.”

Social-networking sites like Facebook where you can stay in touch with old friends may not be as friendly as you think. Facebook “friends” could actually be hackers, scammers, ID thieves or viruses.
“Social-networking sites can be fun and have some obvious benefits like re-connecting with old friends, but you have to exercise caution,” Better Business Bureau president Lynda Pasa-creta said yesterday.

Most famous Networking website Facebook is set to be banned in Italy by lawmakers after they were accused of glamorizing Mafia gangsters. The proposal by Gianpiero D’Alia of the Christian Democrats Udc Party, has already been approved by the Senate and now it’s expected to be approved by the Chamber of Deputies before it becomes law.
Under the proposal, any websites that have postings praising mafia bosses, rapists or other criminals have to delete them or they will be made unavailable within 24hours to web users by local authorities.
